Memory book plan for Rachel Dawson funeral

The family of travel agent Rachel Dawson, who died last week, are asking friends and colleagues to share pictures with them ahead of her funeral.

The owner and manager of Millhouses Travel Worldchoice, Sheffield, died aged 48.

Her husband of 24 years, Steve Dawson, and daughters Holly (21) and Olivia (16) have thanked friends and fellow travel agents for their “continuous support and kind messages”.

Her funeral will be at 11am on Tuesday June 25 in the North Chapel of Grenoside Crematorium, 5 Skew Hill Lane, Sheffield, S35 8RZ.

Mourners are also invited to join the family afterwards at Wortley Hall, Sheffield, S35 7DB.

Holly Dawson said the family is creating a memory book and asked for people with pictures of Rachel to send them via Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or email hollyvdawson@gmail.com.

She will print the pictures and put them in the memory book so friends coming on the day can write about their memories of Rachel in the book.

“The idea is that, as a family, we can look back at these memories, smile, laugh and feel as though we were there,” said Holly.

“It is an open invitation to both the funeral service at Grenoside and the wake afterwards at Wortley Hall. We would love to see as many people as possible attend both.”

Fellow travel agent Steve Riley (Ashley Adams Worldchoice) has set up a Donate in Memory page on the Cancer Research UK website.

Donations have so far reached £1,230.
