Growing miniple Polka Dot Travel has hired Aislinn Tilsley as its first head of marketing and business development.

She joined this week from Midcounties Co-Operative Travel, where she spent more than seven years in management and commercial marketing roles, most recently as group brand and marketing manager.

Tilsley, who has previously worked at First Choice and Tui, will be responsible for supplier contracts, new business development and the agency’s social media and website.

She will also be involved in new branch openings at the 15-branch agency, which has two shops opening in the next fortnight and plans 30 by the end of 2020.

“Polka Dot have been really prominent with their growth plans  and they have stores across the Midlands and North Wales,” said Tilsley. “I’m based in the Midlands and it makes sense for me to join a company that has expressed clear plans to open in our area.

“It’s a unique and fresh brand so it’s a very exciting business to be involved in.”

Polka Dot’s joint director Philippa Wilcox said: “We need somebody like Aislinn who is dynamic and will be able to help spread the word about Polka Dot Travel and get our name out there.

“She understands the brand already, and has the experience and knowledge to get the brand out there. We are happy to have someone as fantastic and well-known within the travel world as Aislinn.”
