Tipto smashes fundraising total for Reuben’s Retreat

Trade marketing group Tipto has raised a record of more than £3,000 for charity partner Reuben’s Retreat in its 20th anniversary year.

A total of £3,170 was collected from 35 roadshows, super shows and training events nationwide over the past year.

This represented an increase on the previous year’s efforts when £2,900 was raised.

Reuben’s Retreat is to continue as Tipto’s charity partner in the organisation’s 21st year.

Funds raised will go towards supporting families with counselling, well-being therapies and respite or bereavement breaks.

The Glossop-based charity has helped 762 individuals enjoy a respite break and fundraising efforts also go towards completing the planned ten-phase programme of development.

Reuben’s Retreat founder Nicola Graham said: “We can’t thank the Tipto team, its suppliers and all of the agents that attend the events enough for this kind donation.

“Fundraising efforts year on year never cease to amaze us and we’re incredibly humbled by the association’s continued support. The amount donated this year means so much to our beneficiaries and equates to at least 12 family breaks. It truly is amazing.”

Tipto chairman Nick Hughes added: “What a fantastic amount to have raised in our celebratory year – a huge thank to all suppliers and our agent friends for helping us to smash last year’s target for Reuben’s Retreat.

“Agents play an integral role in the fundraising process by buying raffle tickets for the charity prize draw held at each of our events. And suppliers always give generously with inspiring prizes. Here’s to Year 21 and bettering this total once again.”

Gemma Walker, of Newmarket Holidays, who visited Reuben’s Retreat to present the cheque, said: “As a long-standing member of Tipto we are truly proud to be supporting Reuben’s Retreat.

“It’s been two years since I last visited the retreat and it is inspiring to see the changes Nicola and the team have made in that time.

“It is clear to see the importance of the facility for families of children with life limiting illness and our visit truly inspired us to smash the fundraising target again in year 21 – Reuben’s has huge plans and we’re keen to ensure these plans come to fruition.”

Vicky Whitehead, of DoSomethingDifferent.com, visited Reuben’s for the first time.

She said: “Reuben’s Retreat is a name you hear a lot in the travel industry because of Nicola and Michael’s work connection, so it was great to see first-hand just what is being achieved with the important donations from our travel family.

“This certainly won’t be my last visit, anything I can do to support from here on out, I will be there with bells on.”

Claire Dutton, of Shearings, said: “I’m delighted Tipto has decided to continue its support of Reuben’s Retreat into Y21.

“Thanks to the generosity of the agents who attend our events, we always raise a fantastic total that makes such a difference to the families that rely of the charity’s support.

“To smash our previous total and raise £3,170 for this fabulous charity helps it along the road to its ultimate completion goal. I know that every bit of support and help that Tipto can give this charity is much needed and cherished by Nicola and her team so we aim to go bigger and better next year.”
