Clia Cruise Month: Strawberry Holidays agent launches string of incentives

An innovative travel agent has called for the cruise-selling trade to throw its support behind Clia’s Cruise Month.

Kate Holroyd, who co-runs Blackburn-based agency Strawberry Holidays, has launched a string of initiatives to promote cruise during the month.

Clia has several different focuses during September to highlight the options available on a cruise holiday.

Clia is encouraging agents to create their own cruise events to keep in touch with existing clients and entice first-time customers.

Holroyd said: “Everyone should be getting involved in Clia Cruise Month – there is no excuse. September can be a quiet month for some, so let’s make it the new peaks.”

Clia to focus on sustainability and wellness during Cruise Month

One of Holroyd’s initiatives to promote cruise is getting customers to post a ‘sailfie’ – or a selfie taken on a cruise – to win a night away for two worth up to £200.

Holroyd is focusing on different aspects of cruise each day by doing a Facebook Live for her customers before posting the footage on her YouTube channel – Strawberry Holidays.

“There are 30 days in the month and each Facebook Live focuses on cruise,” she said. “So far, I have done Facebook Lives on what Clia Cruise Month is, what Clia is and our first family cruise among other things.

“I have done it as a personal challenge to add some depth to my marketing.”
