Discerning Collection picks up collapsed Fairlight Jones bookings

Discerning Collection is picking up bookings left  by the failure of Turkey specialist  Fairlight Jones.

Fairlight Jones, which offered boutique hotels and luxury villas, was established more than two years ago following the collapse of Exclusive Escapes.

It was set up by former Exclusive Escapes boss Andrew Lee, a previous sales and marketing director at Tapestry Holidays prior to its failure in 2006.

Discerning Collection is run by former Tapestry Holidays owners Nick and Viv Wrightman, who took ownership of the business from former half shareholder Travel Counsellors in a management buy-out five years ago.

Fairlight Jones confirmed on it website that it ceased trading on October 7.

“We would like to thank all the Fairlight Jones team both in the UK and Turkey who are without exception outstanding,” the website post said.

“We would also like to thank our owners and of course our guests. We are desolate.

“The priority at this time if for those guests due to travel in the next few weeks  or have booked for 2020.

“Do please call the specialists at Discerning Collection who are able to re-arrange your holiday and assist if you are currently in situ.”

No explanation was given for the cause of the company ceasing to trade. It is not known how many bookings the company had.
