Jet2.com is introducing summer flights to Innsbruck for the first time with departures from Birmingham and Manchester.
The seasonal flights will operate to the Austrian city between May and September, and the airline has put almost 20,000 seats on sale for the route.
The service will operate on Wednesday and Saturday from Manchester from May 23 to September 19, and will operate on Wednesday from Birmingham from June 3 to September 16.
The city is surrounded by mountains and lakes and is a popular destination for wellness, adventure and sport.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2 and Jet2holidays said: “Innsbruck is the perfect fit for the growing number of people who are looking for adventure, scenery, and wellness on their holidays. Located in the heart of the Austrian Alps, holidaymakers can choose from a whole host of activities from mountain biking and paragliding through to hiking, whilst being able to enjoy the unique blend of modern and old in Innsbruck itself.
“With perfectly timed flights and our award-winning service, we are expecting this programme to be hugely popular with holidaymakers from Manchester and Birmingham airports.”
The announcement follows news of the company’s first ski programme to the city which starts in December.
