Triangle Travel acquires John Allan Travel

Triangle Travel is expanding its high street agency network to five shops having signed a deal to take over long-standing neighbour John Allan Travel.

John Allan has worked in the industry for 50 years, and owned the branch in Didcot for 29 years. He intends to retire after completing the deal with the fellow independent agency.

Family-run Triangle Travel, a Travel Network Group Worldchoice member, has added to its retail portfolio, which already includes shops in Mortimer, Newbury, Pangbourne and Wallingford.

Managing director Rob Kenton said: “John has built up a really strong business over the years and we are honoured that he has entrusted us to take on the stewardship of John Allan Travel. It has an excellent reputation and we very much plan to keep it the same way.

“John and I share the same views on how to operate a successful travel business, which is centred around delivering exceptional customer service and I am delighted that he is entrusting us to carry on with the business he lovingly built up over the years. We wish him and his wife a happy, well-earned retirement.”

Agents Penny Wesson and Jill Mangan, who have worked at John Allan Travel for 12 years and seven years respectively, will continue in their roles.

Kenton added: “One of the things we are most proud of at Triangle Travel is the level of personal service we offer to customers and our attention to detail. We realise only too well how valuable a holiday is to our customers and therefore the importance of making sure it goes right from start to finish.”
