Red weather alert issued for Turkish resorts

A red weather alert has been issued for a number of Turkish resorts on the Mediterranean coast.

Turkish authorities issued the warning for the Antalya area.

Central Antalya, Serik, Kemer, Finike and Kumluca may be affected by storms, heavy rain, strong winds and flooding today and on Thursday.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in updated travel advice: “If you’re travelling in the area you should check local weather reports regularly.”

The bad weather is forecast between 6am today and 12pm on Thursday.
