Carnival Cruise Line to promote Australia cruises

Carnival Cruise Line will promote Australia sailings on newly refurbished ship, Carnival Splendor.

Carnival Splendor has repositioned to Sydney from Long Beach, California, following a 60-day dry dock in Singapore.

The 3,006-passenger ship will be joined in Australia next year by Carnival Spirit in Brisbane where a new port funded by Carnival is being built.

Christine Duffy, the line’s president, told 450 agents on board Carnival Panorama’s inaugural cruise that these deployments were part of a concerted effort by the line to push cruises in Australia.

She said: “Carnival Splendor is now like a new ship. We are going to be very aggressive promoting Australia cruising to North Americans which we have not really done as much in the past.

“We think that is a great opportunity for many North Americans who have not really been to Australia and our British friends because they all speak the same language.

“We want them to all love Australia with Carnival.”
