Regent UK sales boss urges agents to up-sell clients

Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ UK sales boss has urged agents looking to up-sell customers from premium to ultra-luxury to attend promotional events run by the line.

The line organises 300 events each year in the UK where agents invite small groups of up to 30 customers to different venues across the country.

Kelly-Marie Gregg, the line’s UK-based training and events manager, often leads the events and articulates the value proposition of the all-inclusive luxury line.

Speaking on new ship Seven Seas Splendor this week, Paul Beale, the line’s UK senior sales director, said: “If you have a concentrated amount of these individuals from these premium suite bookers we will do the articulation for you.”

Details about the events are available on the line’s website or through the Regent Seven Seas sales team.

Graham Sadler, managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said Regent’s events were the “cheapest form of marketing” available.

“[Events are] by far the most cost-effective way of starting that process. We see every single event that we run delivers immediate return and a long tail.”

The line is offering 65 new shore excursions in Europe which are available on Splendor but will also be rolled out on the rest of the fleet. All excursions are included in the fare.

Prices for the 15-night Fine Wines and Riviera Times itinerary, departing from Southampton on August 30, 2020, lead in from $15,199. The sailing features 73 shore excursions.

One of the new excursions is the Monaco Walking Tour which includes a visit to the city-state’s only micro-brewery.

Splendor also features 16 new two-hour cooking classes in the ship’s onboard cooking school Culinary Arts Kitchen. The classes will be rolled out onto sister ship Explorer in April. Prices start from $89.

The first three events will take place on:

March 11: Bartle Hall, Preston

March 12: Knowsley Hall, Prescot

March 19: Hampton Manor, Solihull
