Wendy Wu Tours has issued an assurance to the trade that it is doing the “absolute utmost” to retain customers originally booked to China before the coronavirus outbreak.
More than 85% of people due to travel in March are either rebooking to go to the country later in the year or in 2021.
Other long-haul destinations featured by the specialist operator are also being offered as alternatives.
The company is offering £50 vouchers for every booking made by agents in February to incentivise sales.
The gesture was a thank you for continued support from the trade is outlined in a video message by global sales director John Warr and Wendy Wu Tours staff.
Warr said: “We are coping very well, thanks to the immense support of agent friends and the wider travel industry.
“We have nothing but praise for the way our agents have responded to this and the incredible support they have shown us.
“We have a dedicated coronavirus news section and travel advice page on our website which is updated three times a day with the latest news, direct from China.
“Our agents have welcomed this page and are using it daily in their customer communications.
“It is indeed at times like this when you realise just how incredibly supportive the industry is and how we all lean on each other at such times. We have had the most wonderful feedback from our agents and are doing all we can to support them and their customers.”
