Coronavirus: Faremine’s head of sales leaves business

Faremine’s head of sales Chris Oakes has left the business.

He joined the online booking system company in October 2017 following a short period of consultancy with the trade-only brand.

Speaking to Travel Weekly, Oakes said his departure was amicable and had been the result of challenges created by coronavirus.

Posting online about his departure, Oakes said: “As some of you know, my time at Faremine has now come to an end.

“It’s a hard time in travel and the team are doing a sterling job to support our customers so please be patient and be kind. To all the travel industry friends and colleagues who supported us and continue to do so, you are legends.

“On a personal basis again may thanks for your support of me and the team.”

Oakes, who has 30 years travel industry experience in senior roles including Hays Travel Indepedence Group, Holidaytaxis.com, Traveltek and Stella Travel Group, said he had revamped his consultancy website for “when things pick up”.
