A-Rosa to resume European river sailings from mid-June

River cruise line A-Rosa has announced plans to restart sailings in mid-June as travel restrictions begin to lift across Europe.

Cruises on the Douro are planned to restart on June 17, followed by sailings on the Rhine on June 19 and the Danube on June 20.

Cruises in France, on the Seine and Rhone rivers, are expected to restart in early July.

A-Rosa said it will continue to monitor the requirements of the authorities in the various countries and make adjustments if required. It had said earlier this month that it planned to resume sailings from the end of May.

The river line has already revealed new health and hygiene measures and social distancing guidelines for its river vessels when cruising resumes.

It has also appointed Dr Jens Tülsner, founder and chief executive of Marine Medical Solutions who helped A-Rosa develop its safety guidelines, as fleet doctor to support operations.
