Jet2holidays extends suspension to Algarve

Jet2holidays said it will extend the suspension of its flights and holidays programme to the Algarve because of the continuing Covid-19 pandemic.

It had already suspended holidays to the Portuguese destination until August 16.

A Jet2holidays announcement to travel agents today said: “We still have plenty of holidays available to alternative destinations including Greece and Turkey next week for your customers to rebook.”

All holidays departing up to and including August 23 will automatically be cancelled with a full refund.

“Flights will start to recommence from August 24 and this is subject to our new summer 2020 flying programme,” it said.

It intends to re-start flights to the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands from August 23, and to mainland Spain from August 24.

Flights to Cyprus will recommence from August 17.

All customers returning to the UK from Spain, the Algarve and Madeira must self-isolate for 14 days.

All customers travelling to Cyprus are required to have a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of arrival into Cyprus and have a completed Cyprus Flight Pass form and QR Code.
