Etihad to fly daily between the UAE and Israel

Etihad Airways is to launch daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv after the UAE and Israel agreed diplomatic ties.

Services are due to begin from March 28, 2021. Departures will be timed to connect TelAviv, via Abu Dhabi, to the Etihad network including destinations in China, India, Thailand and Australia.

The nations signed Abraham Accords in Washington D.C. in the US in September, and Etihad became the first Gulf carrier to operate a commercial passenger flight to and from Tel Aviv a month later.

Mohammad Al Bulooki, chief operating officer of Etihad Aviation Group, said: “Following the signing of the new bilateral agreement, Etihad is delighted to announce a direct link between these important cities.

“The commencement of scheduled flights is a historic moment and as an airline, cements Etihad’s commitment to growing opportunities for trade and tourism not just between the two countries but also within the region and beyond.”
