Emirates Group starts to vaccinate UAE-based staff

The Emirates Group has launched a vaccination programme for its UAE-based workforce, in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority and the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

Frontline aviation staff, including cabin crew, flight deck and other operational roles, are being prioritised.

The airline and sister company dnata are among the first transport and air services organisations in the world to offer employees the option of being vaccinated against Covid-19.

The programme is offering two vaccines which have been approved by the UAE health authorities: the Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinopharm vaccines.

Inoculation appointments will run 12 hours a day, for seven days a week, to ensure as many essential aviation workers as possible can get the vaccine.

Staff can also opt to be vaccinated at government medical centres and clinics.

Almost 1.9 million vaccinations have been given to people in the UAE since December 2020 and more than half of the population is on track to be inoculated by the end of March.
