Liverpool John Lennon airport’s largest airline, easyJet, has unveiled a new route to Gran Canaria starting in December.
The twice-weekly service to the Canary Islands will start on October 27 and operate on Mondays and Fridays throughout the winter, with one-way fares from £35.
The budget carrier has more than 640,000 seats now on sale for destinations from Liverpool for the winter season.
EasyJet holidays is offering packages for the new destination, including flights, hotel, luggage allowance and transfers.
The airline has been expanding its operations at Liverpool over the past year, having added a seventh Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet and introducing new services to Split, Malta, Fuerteventura, Prague, Berlin, Marrakesh, Derry, Sharm el Sheikh and Oslo.
Paul Winfield, aviation director for the airport, said: “We are delighted to welcome additional winter sun routes with our largest partner, easyJet.
“This new service will now enable more passengers from across the northwest to travel to Gran Canaria from Liverpool.”
