Music festival founders to open Dubai desert glamping experience

A new oasis desert glamping experience will be launched in Dubai this September by the founders of one of Europe’s biggest music festivals.

Terra Solis is a joint venture with Tomorrowland which was founded in 2005 and takes place in Boom, Belgium, over three weekends attracting over 600,000 people from 200 countries.

The adult-only venue will offer just 74 rooms ranging from bell tents to lodges and pool-side cabanas and is expected to attract overnight and day visitors from nearby Dubai.

It will be located in an Arabian fort 15 minutes from Downtown Dubai in Dubailand, Al Yufra, and will operate during the cooler winter months between September and March.

Terra Solis was described as a first lifestyle brand launched by Tomorrowland which claims it offers something unique not currently available in Dubai.

Nicolas Vandenabeele, founder and chief executive of Terra Solis, said it will not be a large entertainment venue like Tomorrowland but it will host regular performances from renowned DJs and musicians.

“We want to bring the whole spirit of Tomorrowland here to the desert but with a completely different concept. We want to offer something in the desert that’s a one of a kind entertainment hub,” he said.

“Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a memorable world of wonder with the finest music, a vibrant yet relaxing pool scene, incredible tastes and aromas and a unique glamping experience in the Arabian dunes while relaxing under the Dubai sun.”

The venue is expected to appeal to tourists as well as to the large expat community looking for a place to relax, dine and enjoy music and entertainment throughout the day and into the night.

Covering 371,000 square metres, the attraction will serve cuisine from around the world and feature a pool-side restaurant specialising in Mediterranean food alongside a cocktail bar and Sala shisha lounge.
