Delta to double JFK-Heathrow service in December

US carrier Delta will increase its daily service from New York’s JFK airport to Heathrow to twice a day from December 6.

The increase in capacity will also be seen on other transatlantic routes from that date, as the service to Paris will also double to a daily offering, while flights to Dublin will increase to a daily operation.

The carrier will reinstate non-stop service to Frankfurt on December 13, which was last operated in March 2020.

Delta will operate up to 15 daily flights from the US to 13 transatlantic destinations in December.

It said the increases are planned “as the holiday travel season approaches and the US readies the lifting of travel restrictions on vaccinated international visitors”.

Furthermore, it is restoring non-stop services to New York’s top 40 domestic markets.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s network planning senior vice-president, said: “We’re adding 25% more capacity this fall to meet the significant demand for business and international travel going into next year.

“We continue to provide more choice and convenience while rebuilding our global connectivity.”
