Almost 20 suppliers have already signed up to give away an array of spectacular prizes to frontline travel sellers in an online curtain-raiser to the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards.
The Agent Achievement Rewards will be broadcast on Travel Weekly’s social media channels and website on the afternoon of Thursday, September 16, with the glittering AAA ceremony to take place later in the evening at London’s Park Plaza Westminster hotel.
The virtual element is designed to ensure all agents can be part of the biggest celebration of the travel trade in the UK & Ireland and builds on the success of the Globe Travel Rewards, which took place in January to mark the date on which the Globe Travel Awards would have been held.
It launches as the shortlists are unveiled for a range of AAA categories honouring both agencies and individuals.
Lucy Huxley, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly Group, said: “This year’s AAAs will be a celebration and recognition of the incredible businesses and people who make up the travel trade, with nominations and voting reflecting the efforts of so many during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We understand that many agents will not be able to attend the event in London in person, so the Agent Achievement Rewards will give us an opportunity to bring the trade together in a virtual format and give away some fantastic prizes.”
She added: “We are fortunate to have the support of an array of fantastic sponsors for the AAAs, including our headline sponsor Virgin Atlantic and premium sponsors easyJet holidays, Gold Medal, Malta Tourism Authority and NCL.
“Their willingness to engage not just with the UK’s flagship travel agent awards ceremony, but also with this online rewards event, is testament to the importance they place on their travel agent partners.”
Attendance at the virtual Agent Achievement Awards will be completely free, and entry for the prize draws is open to any bona fide travel agent. To be in with a chance of winning one of the prizes on offer, register here before noon on Wednesday, September 1.
