Marella Cruises cancels fourth ex-Barbados sailing

Marella Cruises has cancelled the next scheduled sailing on Marella Discovery due to local changes in Barbados.

All four of the 2,076-passenger ship’s sailings out of Bridgetown this year have been pulled.

The fourth sailing was due to depart on Sunday (January 23).

Local authorities in Barbados recently said they were no longer allowing cruise passengers with positive tests to disembark and stay in quarantine hotels.

Affected passengers have been offered the choice of changing their holiday or receiving a full refund.

A spokesperson for Marella Cruises said: “We can confirm that as a result of local changes in Barbados, we have unfortunately had to cancel Marella Discovery’s upcoming sailing on January 23.”

The line also cancelled three March sailings out of Majorca last week. It has not given a specific reason for those cancellations.
