Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection confirms names of two new vessels

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has confirmed two new-build superyachts, Ilma and Luminara, will join its fleet in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

Both vessels will be constructed in collaboration with shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Sant-Nazaire, France.

The vessels will join the line’s first superyacht, Evrima, which is scheduled to launch on August 6 from Piraeus, Greece, more than two years later than originally planned.

Ilma and Luminara will each feature 228 suites with private terraces. According to the line, the vessels will feature the highest space ratios at sea, with a high percentage of larger suites and two new upper suite categories measuring up to 100 sq m in size. The ships will also provide nearly one staff member for every guest.

Each vessel will have five restaurants, six bars, a wine vault, and the same signature spaces found on Evrima, such as an expanded marina with a new mezzanine feature, a Ritz-Carlton Spa and a dedicated space for Ritz Kids programming. For special events, groups can enjoy an exclusive cocktail reception on the yacht’s expanded bow.

Ilma and Luminara will be fitted with four dual-fuel engines and utilise liquefied natural gas (LNG) as its main fuel source, which significantly reduces emissions compared to traditional practices. The superyachts will also include advanced water treatment systems, an efficient heat recovery loop and LED lighting, with the goal of minimising environmental impact.

Each vessel will feature itineraries ranging from seven to 10 nights in the Caribbean and Mediterranean and will offer an all-inclusive experience. They will also be available for private charter.

“We are thrilled to work with Chantiers de l’Atlantique on the development of our second and third superyachts, Ilma and Luminara,” said Douglas Prothero, chief executive of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

“They are a likeminded organisation that is committed to excellence and a custom quality process and program that will help execute our vision as we thoughtfully expand our portfolio.”

Laurent Castaing, general manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, added: “Chantiers de l’Atlantique is very proud to design and build these medium size, ultra-luxury cruise vessels and initiate a new partnership with The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

“These ships will provide the highest quality standards and comfort level to their guests and simultaneously be at the forefront of environmental performances.”

Reservations for the 2024 season of itineraries will open this autumn.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection said the partnership with Chantiers de l’Atlantique included “an option for additional vessels”.
