Maldives launches ‘I’m Vaccinated’ tourism campaign

Visit Maldives and the Maldives Ministry of Tourism have launched a campaign to highlight high vaccination levels of tourism staff and safety measures for visitors.

More than 65% of the eligible Maldivian population has received a vaccination for Covid-19 and more than 90% of the eligible tourism industry is already vaccinated.

Using the slogan ‘I’m Vaccinated’, the campaign is part of a drive for the Maldives to have the first fully vaccinated tourism industry in the world.

The campaign aims to reassure travellers that the Maldives is one of the safest destinations and will publicise the effort and investment in Covid-safe measures.

The Maldives tourism minister Dr Abdulla Mausoom hailed the vaccination drive for members of the tourism industry as a “huge accomplishment”.

Thoyyib Mohamed (pictured), managing director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), which runs Visit Maldives, said a microsite and social media activity will showcase images and videos of tourism professionals with a vaccination badge, presented to them by Visit Maldives once they receive the prescribed jabs.
