Inghams Ski has claimed a 32% week-on-week spike in bookings as snowfall continued across Europe to coincide with the start of the winter season
The strongest demand has been for 2025 departures, increasing by 33% over last week, with January proving the most popular month for travel.
France and Austria have seen the most bookings, with Austria up 32% as the operator predicted that the booking momentum would continue.
The Inghams Ski snow guarantee has been improved to now cover customers if fewer than 25% of runs are open in the resort they are staying in – up from 10% – to reassure those who are still “tentative” to book.
If ski runs are not able to open due to lack of snow, Inghams Ski will organise transport to get customers to and from a resort that has better skiing conditions for any affected days covered by their lift pass.
Managing director John Mansell said: “A spike in bookings like these are what you expect to see when people are confident in great snow conditions for the start of the season.
“We are seeing those who have been tentative to book a ski holiday now committing, and it’s clear everyone is feeling the excitement for the season ahead.
“As strong booking numbers continue into this week, we can’t wait for the season to start, and with our revised snow guarantee, our customers can be as confident as we are in our high-altitude resorts with reliable snow records.”
Packages including train travel have been introduced this winter to Morzine and Avoriaz, expanding the range to 22 resorts in four countries.
Separately, the resorts of Voss and Myrkdalen in Norway make their debut alongside Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo in Italy and Nendaz in Switzerland.
