New Nevis tourism boss pledges to strengthen UK trade ties

Industry veteran Devon Liburd has been confirmed as chief executive of the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA).

This follows his position as interim chief executive since February.

Liburd pledged to strengthen existing and forge new partnerships with the UK travel trade.

He said:“As travellers increasingly seek authentic and genuine travel experiences, Nevis should be at the forefront, and my role is to ensure that our unique island is positioned as an attractive, exciting holiday destination for visitors.

“I look forward to strengthening existing and forging new partnerships with the travel and tourism trade in the UK, to help drive increased visitation to our special island.”

Liburd has more than two decades of experience with the Nevis Tourism Authority and was sales and marketing director since 2008.

In that role, he was responsible for overseeing the promotion of Nevis in all of its source markets and for the cruise sector.

He was previously a tourism officer for the island’s tourism department.
