Pharrell Williams collaborates on new Bahamas resort

Musician and producer Pharrell Williams is working with hospitality entrepreneur David Grutman, of Groot Hospitality, to open a resort in the Bahamas in 2024.

Called Somewhere Else, it will be on Atlantis Paradise Island, which also features properties such as The Royal, The Coral, The Reef and The Cove.

The new property will take over the current site of The Beach.

The partners have already collaborated on a Miami property, The Goodtime Hotel, and Miami restaurant, Swan.

Somewhere Else will feature more than 400 rooms and suites, plus dining venues, an oceanfront beach, pools, recreation areas and live entertainment.

Grutman, founder of Groot Hospitality, said: “Not only will it offer a major extension of the unforgettable and high-energy experiences we deliver with Groot Hospitality, but also, a clear focus on nature and restorative elements.”

Audrey Oswell, president and managing director at Atlantis Paradise Island, added: “We can’t wait to share the Somewhere Else experience with new and returning guests.”
