Clia unveils river cruise training programme for trade

Clia has launched a four-week river cruise programme designed to boost product and destination knowledge among agents ahead of the Wave sales period.

In the programme – the River Cruise Challenge – agents are encouraged to access river cruise learning tools such as the new-to-river cruise guide and two online training modules via the Clia website.

They can also engage with training provided by river cruise lines available through the site and become members of the Clia Europe and Clia travel agent Facebook pages.

Latest river cruise news is available through the Facebook pages.

The challenge has been put together by the trade body’s River Cruise Working Group.

A series of optional river cruise events, including the RiverView Conference, and additional tools are also separately available.

Andy Harmer, Clia UK and Ireland managing director, pointed out that it was “straightforward” for agents expand their river cruise knowledge over a four-week period.

He said: “River cruise is going from strength to strength, so with Wave just around the corner this is the ideal time for the trade to brush up on their know-how.

“The River Cruise Challenge is available now, as well as next year, for agents who are keen to grow their river cruise sales into 2022 and beyond.”

Details about Clia’s first River Cruise Residential will be announced soon, the trade association said.
