Amadeus River Cruises has held a naming ceremony for its newest ship, Amadeus Aurea, in Amsterdam.
The 158-passenger vessel was christened with a bottle of champagne by godmother Kristie Keller, owner of agency Addicted to Adventures, during the event on May 15.
Amadeus Aurea will sail its maiden season on the Rhine and Danube rivers, with highlights including sailings between Amsterdam and Basel, round-trip voyages from Passau featuring visits to Vienna and Budapest, a Blue Danube cruise from Nuremberg to Passau, and a festive Magic of Advent itinerary from Strasbourg to Cologne.
Onboard amenities include suites with walk-out balconies, a spa and fitness area, the Café Vienna dining venue, a sun deck and a heated pool.
Wolfgang Lüftner, founder and chief executive of Amadeus River Cruises, said: “With the launch of the Amadeus Aurea, we are continuing our long-term commitment to investing in the future of premium river cruising.
“Today’s travellers want meaningful experiences without compromising on quality, and our goal is to deliver exactly that – a refined river cruise experience that is both responsible and uncompromisingly luxurious.”
