Ambassador confirms newly-created role as Lynsey Jones returns from maternity leave

Lynsey Jones returns to Ambassador Cruise Line from maternity leave next month in the newly-created role of strategic account manager.

She will resume work within the line’s trade team on a three day a week basis on August 24, following a four-month interim position before the birth of her child last year.

Jones joined Ambassador in May 2025 following her departure from Balkan Holidays, where she was head of sales and brand until the company closed for business in the UK.

In her new role she will offer senior management support to head of distribution Nicola Harper and deputy head of trade Karen Cameron, while working to help agents with strategic positioning of new products and driving revenue.

Meanwhile, former Barrhead Travel branch manager Debbie Ballantyne has been promoted from business development executive to business development manager – north, having joined Ambassador in 2024.

She joins homeworkers and new business BDM Laura Yates and BDM – south Jade Cheadle, following their respective promotions in March. 

Ambassador Cruise Line has created an all-new business development executive position within its southern division in response to increased activity out of London Tilbury Port, with applications open from today (Wednesday).

The new role will allow for increased agent visits across southern regions, as the line looks to expand its presence throughout the region.

Camerson said: “Lynsey’s considerable knowledge of the travel sector, coupled with her industry experience, make her a perfect fit for the trade team, and we’re so pleased to welcome her back."

She added: “Having displayed significant growth during her time with Ambassador, Debbie has been recognised as an individual more than capable of taking on increased commercial responsibility within our northern division.
