Exodus Adventure Travels has re-certified as a Certified B Corporation, “reinforcing its commitment to using travel as a force for good”.
The recertification comes as Exodus highlights the progress in its latest Impact Report, showcasing initiatives that support wildlife conservation, habitat restoration and communities around the world.
As a Certified B Corp, Exodus is part of a global movement of businesses committed to balancing purpose and profit, with certification independently verifying performance across areas including governance, employees, communities and environmental impact.
This recertification places Exodus among the first cohort of businesses to certify under B Corp’s new standards, introduced to strengthen expectations of certified companies and drive more meaningful progress on responsible business practices.
Kasia Morgan, head of sustainability at Exodus, said: “Re-certifying as a B Corp is an important milestone for us, as well as a reminder that there is always more to do.
“Adventure travel has the power to create meaningful benefits for both people and nature.
“Our latest Impact Report demonstrates how we’re working to protect wildlife, restore ecosystems, support local communities and ensure that travel leaves a positive legacy.”
Highlights in the latest Impact Report include the fifth anniversary of Exodus’ pioneering rewilding commitment, through which the company rewilds 100 square metres of land for every traveller who joins an Exodus trip.
Over the past five years, this has resulted in more than 1,000 hectares rewilded in Italy’s Apennine Mountains, helping to restore habitats for wildlife and increase biodiversity.
It also shows the impact of ‘Thriving Nature, Thriving People Moments’ on holidays, such as excursions that support conservation and livelihoods in Botswana, and meals at social enterprise restaurants in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, through its Wild at Heart campaign, Exodus has committed to three years of support for community-led conservation projects in Vietnam, India, Kenya and Costa Rica.
The Impact Report also highlights how 35 trips enable travellers to contribute to conservation science; 94% of trips are free from directly provided single-use plastics; and 85,000 mangroves and seagrass seedlings have been planted through a partnership with Blue Marine Foundation.
Furthermore, more than 90% of accommodation nights and meals are delivered through locally owned businesses, and £93,000 has been invested through the Exodus Adventure Travels Foundation across 11 projects globally.
