Jet2 launches Leeds Bradford promotions after easyJet confirms exit

Jet2 has seized the opportunity to reassert its commitment to Leeds Bradford and the Yorkshire region after easyJet confirmed it will cease services from the airport next January.

Jet2 responded on Friday (August 21) by creating booking codes offering £100 off holiday bookings and 10% off flights, with the codes applying to departures up to March 31, 2028 if booked by August 31, 2026.

Two further codes – all of which have the prefix YORKSHIRE – offer an extra £100 holiday discount for single-parent families and a £50 discount for solo travellers.

The airline and operator said the move “underlines the company’s long-standing commitment to the airport, Yorkshire and holidaymakers across the region”, noting it started operations with two aircraft at the airport in 2003.

Chief executive Steve Heapy said: “We have been proudly operating from Leeds Bradford Airport since 2003, when we launched with just two aircraft, and since then we have grown to become Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator.

“Our longstanding commitment to the region has never been stronger and we want to say thank you to our loyal customers and independent travel agent partners by launching these brand-new offers today.”

He added: “Customers deserve the best experience and choice when it comes to their well-deserved holidays and that is what we look forward to continuing to provide from Leeds Bradford for many years to come.

“Whether it’s a sunshine getaway, a ski trip or city break escape, this offer makes booking that holiday even easier and we know our loyal customers will be delighted.”

EasyJet confirmed on Thursday that it would stop operating from Leeds Bradford next year following a review of its operations. The airline serves Barcelona, Paris, Belfast, Malaga and Palma from LBA, and has previously offered seasonal flights to Geneva.

• Low-cost carrier Ryanair has also launched rescue fares for passengers affected by easyJet’s withdrawal from Leeds Bradford. It is offering the fares on the Leeds Bradford-Malaga route, which Ryanair operates 10 times a week.
