Specialist travel insurance provider Just Travel Cover is encouraging travellers and agents to check their policy’s cancellation cover limits as holiday prices are increasing.
The company said increasing demand for luxury holidays, longer itineraries and once-in-a-lifetime experiences means that the cost of a holiday can exceed the cancellation limits available on some travel insurance policies.
To help meet demand, Just Travel Cover has introduced Boost: Cancellation, allowing advisers to increase the cancellation cover available on eligible single-trip travel insurance policies where additional protection is required.

The company cited figures from cruise agency ROL Cruise showing entry-level world cruise bookings typically range from £20,000 to £40,000, while luxury suites can exceed £100,000.
Just Travel Cover said the flexibility of its new product is already proving “valuable”.
In one recent case, a customer travelling on a 99-night world cruise increased their cancellation cover by a further £19,000, helping protect the full cost of a holiday worth more than £30,000.
In another, a customer was able to purchase a lower-priced travel insurance policy and just increase the cancellation cover, rather than moving to a higher level of cover that wasn’t otherwise required.
Dale Robinson, marketing director at Just Travel Cover, said: “Travellers are investing more than ever in their holidays, whether that’s a luxury cruise, a tailor-made itinerary or another once-in-a-lifetime experience. As holiday values increase, it’s important that cancellation cover keeps pace.
“We’ve always offered a wide range of cancellation limits through our panel of insurers, but Boost: Cancellation gives our advisers another way of tailoring cover where customers need additional protection.
“Sometimes that’s about protecting the cost of a £30,000 world cruise. Other times it’s about helping a customer choose the policy that is right for them and increasing the cancellation cover to match the value of their holiday.”
