The UK Foreign Office’s decision to lift its advice against all but essential travel to the UAE in June was very welcome news for both travellers and the travel industry.
More importantly, it restored confidence, giving people the reassurance to book their next holiday and allowing travel partners to plan ahead with certainty.
There was clearly pent-up demand and we’re already seeing plenty of renewed interest from the UK market.
Many travellers simply postponed their plans, and with confidence returning, I expect demand to continue building steadily over the summer and into the winter season.
What’s particularly exciting is how the UAE has evolved. Visitors today are looking for more than a city break; they want variety, authentic experiences, and the opportunity to combine different styles of holiday in one trip.
That is something the UAE does exceptionally well. Guests can enjoy beachfront relaxation, championship golf, family experiences, outdoor adventure, and sporting activities, all within a single destination.
At JA Resorts & Hotels we’ve seen growing demand for this type of travel across JA Beach Hotel, JA Palm Tree Court, JA Lake View Hotel, JA Ocean View Hotel and JA Hatta Fort Hotel, with even more opportunities to come through the opening of our new JA Sports & Shooting Club.
It reflects the wider direction of UAE tourism, where experiences increasingly drive travel decisions. Booking habits have also changed.
Travellers are researching more carefully and looking for flexibility, memorable experiences, and genuine value. That’s encouraging because it rewards destinations that continue to invest in their product rather than simply competing on price.
For the travel trade, clear government guidance is equally important. It allows agents to sell with confidence, airlines to plan capacity and hotels to invest knowing demand is returning on solid foundations.
Looking ahead, I’m very optimistic about the next 12 to 24 months. The UAE offers world-class hospitality, outstanding connectivity, value for money, guaranteed weather, and a breadth of experiences that few destinations can match.
As travellers continue seeking holidays that combine relaxation, activity, and authentic local experiences, I believe the UAE is perfectly positioned to benefit.
For us, the focus remains simple: creating memorable experiences that encourage guests to return, discover more of the destination, and experience the incredible diversity the UAE has to offer.
