An Accor executive has been recruited to become chief marketing officer at Ponant Explorations.
Nicolas Gronier moves after three years with the French hotel company where he spearheaded transformation of the Sofitel brand.
His 20-year career spans retail and globally recognised cultural institutions, including Sydney Opera House, where he led a brand and digital transformation.
Gronier will head a newly-established global marketing organisation within the commercial and growth division of the luxury expedition cruise company.
He will oversee the company’s global brand and creative studio, digital, marketing operations, product marketing, and marketing partnerships.
“His mandate will focus on enhancing marketing effectiveness to strengthen customer loyalty, accelerate acquisition, and drive growth through product marketing, customer insights, and commercial partnerships,” Ponant said.
Deputy commercial and growth chief executive Belinda Hindmarsh said: “Nicolas joins Ponant Explorations at a pivotal moment in our growth journey.
“His extensive experience across luxury and hospitality, combined with his strategic approach to marketing and growth, will play a key role in delivering on our ambitions and strengthening the relationships we build with our guests around the world.”
Gronier added: “The company has built a unique position in the luxury travel industry, combining a strong heritage with a spirit of innovation and exploration.
“I look forward to working closely with teams across the organisation to further strengthen the brand, deepen our understanding of our guests, and unlock new opportunities for sustainable growth in key markets around the world.”
