Seaside At Home celebrates first anniversary

Seaside At Home is poised to reach 100 homeworkers by the end of the year as it celebrates its first birthday.

The homeworking group set up by high-street miniple Seaside Travel now has 87 agents working remotely, with a further induction for up to 15 agents planned later this month.

Two further inductions are scheduled for October and December, which will take the group past the 100 milestone.

John Milburn said: “We are hoping to be over the 100 mark by the end of the year – all being well we should achieve this across this induction or our next one.”

He added: “We continue to see a mix of experienced agents and new-to-travel. New inductions are normally 60% experienced and 40% new or returning to travel on average.”

The group held its first birthday celebration lunch at The Royal George pub in Old Shotton, near Peterlee, which was bought by Seaside Travel owners Nicola Park and Barry Coatman – known as “Mr and Mrs Seaside” – last year.

The event was attended by 30 Seaside At Home homeworkers from across the country, with some making the trip from Norfolk, the Midlands and Scotland, alongside six supplier partners and the senior management team.

The day included a recap of all the milestones achieved in the year, an overview of the group’s objectives for the year ahead, a presentation by event sponsor Ambassador Cruise Line, and a supplier matchmaker session with Tui, Jet2holidays, Travelsphere, Fred Olsen, Major Travel and Ambassador.
