Silver Travel Advisor head of retail Julie Crumpton has bagged her highest-value sale to date – a £70,000 Cruise Plus booking secured with clients who have booked with her since she became an agent 38 years ago.
The itinerary, a seven-night Silversea sailing from Rome to Athens in July 2028, was booked for a party of 14 to mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Crumpton’s longest-standing customers, Linda and Richard Wood.
The couple made their first booking with Crumpton in 1989 for a Caribbean holiday, remaining loyal customers throughout her 38-year career across Thomas Cook, Travel Counsellors and her current role establishing Silver Travel’s retail arm four years ago.
Crumpton said: “They have followed me around – every time I moved shops at Thomas Cook, from Cannock to Wolverhampton, then as manager in Stafford, Walsall, Telford and finally Oldbury.
“I was three months into my job at Thomas Cook and a mere 21 years old [when they first booked]. I am now coming up for 60 in November.
“They really are the loveliest couple, and I now not only book their holidays, but their sons’ holidays with their families too. They also recommend me to their friends and family and are one of my biggest referrers.”
The milestone sale comes as the over-50s specialist continues to build momentum across its retail division, which Crumpton was recruited to establish in 2022 after the business expanded beyond its origins as a reviews, information and advice publisher.
