Silversea unveils widest range of Med expedition cruises for 2028-29

Luxury and expedition cruise line Silversea has unveiled its 2028-2029 sailings, with its most extensive programme of Mediterranean expedition voyages.

The collection also features Silver Nova’s inaugural season in northern Europe, and a 60-day Grand Mediterranean Voyage aboard Silver Dawn.

Departing between March 2028 and March 2029, the cruises span 497 destinations in 71 countries, with more than 120 new or reintroduced ports of call across classic and expedition sailings.

“From Mediterranean expedition voyages to an enhanced Antarctica fly-cruise programme and the 60-day Grand Mediterranean Voyage aboard Silver Dawn, this collection offers our guests a unique array of destination experiences, delivered in a way that only Silversea can.” 

Named ‘Let the World Surprise You’, the collection features many cruises that are scheduled to coincide with seasonal events and cultural festivals – including the Monaco Grand Prix, Japanese cultural festivals, grape harvest across Europe’s Atlantic coast.

The most extensive programme yet of Mediterranean expedition voyages will be aboard Silver Wind.

Highlights include the volcanic Greek island of Milos; Algiers and Bejaia in Algeria; Pantelleria off the coast of Sicily; and a rare inland waterway experience cruising the Guadalquivir River to Sevilla.

Shore activities include guided hikes and cultural encounters. 

Silversea’s 2028-2029 expedition programme will also cover the Arctic, Greenland, Antarctica, the British Isles, Polynesia, the Galápagos, and other remote regions.

Silver Endeavour will also introduce a Baltic expedition programme exploring Finland and Sweden. 

Silversea’s enhanced Antarctica Fly Cruise programme begins in Patagonia with a stay at The Cormorant at 55 South – the cruise line’s hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, and the southernmost hotel on Earth.

Clients then take a private charter flight directly into Antarctica to avoid the Drake Passage and arrive directly on King George Island.

A total of 41 Antarctica voyages are scheduled across three expedition ships – Silver Cloud, Silver Endeavour and Silver Wind – including Christmas and New Year’s Eve departures. 

Silver Dawn’s Grand Mediterranean Voyage in autumn 2028 features more than 40 destinations across Greece, Croatia, Italy, the Adriatic, and the Iberian Peninsula.

Pre-, mid-, and post-cruise options include a three-night stay to experience Finland’s sauna culture, coastal landscapes, and food traditions, and a three-night private island resort stay in the Seychelles for those sailing from Mahé.
