The Good Travel Agent has scrapped its ambition to reach 100 homeworking members by the end of the year, instead deciding to open its coaching programme to the “whole travel industry”.
The homeworking group, founded in October 2023, had previously been aiming to hit a three-figure membership tally by the close of 2026, but chief executive Jake Cullum-Hollins said recruitment had proven “slower than expected”.
“We believe this may be because the industry is reaching a point of saturation,” he added. “So rather than always chasing new agents, we want the ability to share our knowledge and proven methods with as many people as possible.”
The company, which has 72 active homeworkers, is introducing a coaching programme offering one-to-one support to any agent regardless of which company they work for.
The sessions will develop skills in any area of an agent’s business, according to their needs, with social media and selling skills among the potential focuses.
Cullum-Hollins, who founded The Good Travel Agent with Rob Bryer, said: “We started this business to help as many people as possible run successful businesses, so we’re opening up our support to anyone who needs it.”
He added: “I absolutely love coaching and developing individuals – it’s always been a strength of mine and I think that comes from genuinely enjoying watching others succeed off the back of the actions they take.
“I know there are many people in the travel industry who don’t get proper business support from the companies they’re part of, which is why we wanted to offer this as an additional service within The Good Travel Agent brand, alongside our host agency and full franchise models.”
