Tui client gets logo tattoo after booking seven trips to Turkish resort

Staff at Tui’s Stourbridge store are used to looking after repeat customers but got a surprise when one client decided to get a tattoo of the company logo after booking seven trips to the same Turkish resort in two years.

Client Angie Owen had the Tui logo tattooed on her wrist during her latest trip to İçmeler in Turkey.

She first travelled there with Tui in 2022 and has returned to the resort a further six times – staying at a variety of hotels including the Blue Bay Marmaris, Mirage World Icmeler and the Fortuna Hotel with her fiancé. She has booked every trip through the Stourbridge branch.

Stourbridge travel advisor Nicki Smith said: “It’s not every day that a customer walks into the shop with a Tui logo tattoo.

“I genuinely couldn’t believe it when Angie showed us. We’ve helped her book a number of holidays over the years and it’s been lovely to see her excitement every time she comes back in to plan the next one.”

She added that the store, which has eight agency staff, worked hard to forge strong ties with clients, noting: “It shows the trust and relationships that can be built through retail.

“We get to know our customers, understand what they’re looking for and help them create memories that mean a lot to them.”

Tui in-resort reps have already given Owen some chocolates and fizz after she showed them her tattoo, while Tui cabin crew also surprised the holidaymaker on a flight with some bubbles after hearing the news.

Owen cited the relationship with the Stourbridge staff as the reason she returns there to book her holidays and why she got the tattoo, describing it as a permanent reminder of some of her happiest memories.

İçmeler is popular among customers thanks to its beaches, mountain views, boat trips and relaxed atmosphere, offering a quieter alternative to nearby Marmaris.

She said: “We always go into the store to book our holidays. The team are so friendly and helpful and they know exactly what we like. Booking the next trip is all part of the excitement.

“I always tell people to try Icmeler because it has everything you want from a holiday, but it still feels like a hidden gem. It’s where I got engaged and where we’ve made so many special memories over the years.

“There’s no stress at all. Everything is taken care of and we know we’re in safe hands.”

Owen admitted the tattoo had “raised a few eyebrows” among family and friends but said she had no regrets.

She has already booked her next holiday to stay at the Fortuna Hotel İçmeler in September through the Stourbridge agency.

“We won’t book with anyone else,” she said. “Every holiday has been fantastic and we’ve made memories that will stay with us forever.”
