SeaDream adds Norway sailings to summer restart

Four summer voyages in Norway have been added by SeaDream Yacht Club as the luxury line prepares a return to service from Athens this weekend.

The line’s first Norwegian voyage will set sail from Oslo on July 7 as well as a repositioning sailing from the Norwegian capital to Rome’s port of Civitavecchia.

The company initially planned to sail in Norway with only one ship last summer on nine cruises but capacity was more than doubled due to demand with departures 21 selling out in record time.

“SeaDream completed a successful season in Norway with zero positive cases of Covid-19 without sacrificing luxury,” the company said.

The four itineraries in Norway this summer feature destinations hand-picked by SeaDream chief executive and founder Atle Brynestad.

An extend voyage from Oslo to Rome will follow including a transit through the Kiel Canal, Bordeaux and calls in Vigo, Cadiz and Ibiza.

“Thanks to their size, SeaDream’s superyachts are able to quickly adapt their itineraries to comply with government regulations,” the company said.

“SeaDream can visit exclusive destinations that other ships cannot due to their size. SeaDream chose Norway this summer for its extremely low incidence of Covid-19.”

Fully vaccinated crew flew from Malta to Norway to prepare for the sailings next month.

President  Andreas Brynestad said: “For 20 years we have strived to make our guests’ dreams come true. Our guests asked us to return to Norway, and we listened, crafting incredible itineraries they can experience this summer.

“We believe that there is no safer or more luxurious way to experience Norway this summer.

“We know our guests will enjoy the SeaDream experience of casual elegance and gourmet dining accompanied by the most beautiful backdrop in the world. Our yachts offer a naturally healthy, outdoor environment where space, fresh air, and healthy food have always been a central component.”
