Ken Muskat to leave MSC Cruises’ US operation

Ken Muskat is to step down as executive vice-president and chief operations officer at MSC Cruises US, as the company announces a shake-up of its senior leadership team.

Muskat will leave the company in August to pursue other opportunities, with Lynn Torrent appointed to a new role of executive vice-president and chief commercial officer, working across sales, marketing, revenue management and contact centre operations.

Torrent has recent experience leading Costa Cruises in the US, working in senior executive roles at Carnival Cruise Line, and as division president at Apple Leisure Group.

The creation of her role is part of a broader organisational restructure designed to “integrate commercial functions and support growth opportunities”.

Rubén Rodríguez, president of MSC Cruises USA, said: “I am very excited for Lynn to join our talented team and bring her proven leadership and expertise to support our rapid growth in the US market.

“Her deep experience and proven skills will help us increase the effectiveness and impact of our commercial efforts and sharpen our focus on further developing the key capabilities required to meet our aspirations.”

Rodríguez added: “Today, together with the rest of the MSC family, I want to thank Ken for his many important contributions to MSC Cruises. I am especially grateful for his dedication and partnership in the last two years – to MSC Cruises, to all of us, and to our travel agent partners.”
