After months of wedding planning, newlyweds deserve a honeymoon that’s all about them – no stress and plenty of quality time. Designed with couples in mind, adult-only retreats dial up the luxury and dial down the background noise.
Without having to jostle with inflatables in the pool or face the family rush at the breakfast buffet, clients can enjoy laid-back days and intimate evenings – think swim-up suites, candlelit dinners and sunsets made for two.
Whether it’s an all-inclusive retreat in Greece or a boutique hideaway in Mexico, here are six newly opened resorts where couples can begin married life in style.
1. Alkyna Lifestyle Beach Resort, Greece
Set to welcome guests from May 1, Alkyna Lifestyle Beach Resort is tucked into a verdant hillside on Corfu’s dramatic western coastline. The latest addition to the Ella Resorts portfolio offers clients the chance to seek peace on private balconies, soak in an infinity pool overlooking the Ionian Sea or wander down to a golden beach. The resort is home to eight restaurants and bars, ranging from Italian à la carte to trendy sea-view drinks hangouts, as well as a spa, where treatments are inspired by ancient Greek rituals. The thermal area features an aromatherapy steam room, cold room, Finnish sauna and indoor pool. A 10-minute stroll downhill takes clients into town, where they’ll find vine-draped tavernas serving Corfiot pastitsada (beef stew with pasta).
