British Airways cuts fares in winter sale

British Airways is cutting the cost of first class transatlantic flights as part of a winter sale.

Prices are also being dropped by as much as 20% for World Traveller, World Traveller Plus, Club World and Club Europe seats.

The discounts mean that a first class seat can be bought for just £200 more each-way than business class on the majority of routes across the Atlantic.

For example, first class flights to the airline's latest long-haul destination Nashville will cost £1,719 return.

Travellers will have access to the new First wing at Heathrow, the Concorde room with free concierge services and spa and a private flat-bed six-foot seat on board.

Long-haul World Traveller seats start at £299 return in the sale which runs until the end of January.

BA chief commercial officer Adam Daniels said: "With seats in First from just £1,719 and weekend city breaks including flights and hotels through BA Holidays from £99 per person, Christmas has come early for anybody who is thinking of taking a special trip in 2018, or needs a last-minute present to wow a loved one.”
