Ahead of International Women's Day (March 8) G Adventures and its non-profit partner Planeterra have unveiled five new projects which empower women and their communities.
More than 2,800 women will benefit, thanks to the 3,000 travellers expected to visit these projects annually.
The new projects are part of the Project 100 initiative, a commitment to have 100 Planeterra projects built into G Adventures tours by the end of 2020.
With these projects, the total number now integrated into the company's tours has reached 85, just three months into 2020.
The Berracas de la 13 project in Medellin, Colombia, was created by a group of women to help people in their community.
With Planeterra's support, Berracas de la 13 has improved its restaurant, developed a local tour and created a sustainable income stream.
Clients can visit during the nine-day Colombia Express tour priced from £1,179.
The Domari Culture and Craft Experience in Jerusalem, Israel, supports women and children and visitors can enjoy traditional food, hear cultural stories and buy handicrafts.
Travellers can visit this project during on the 15-day Jordan and Israel Adventure tour from Amman to Jerusalem, priced from £2,449.
Planterra is also supporting TWE – Together We Earn – in Kerala, India, which helps women to learn new skills and find employment.
Travellers can visit and experience this project (pictured) on the seven-day National Geographic Journeys South India: Explore Kerala, from £849.
Shedia Home in the Greek capital Athens is a not-for-profit organisation working to employ those experiencing homelessness and social exclusion.
Planeterra brings travellers to the new Shedia Home, which features a cafe, educational talks and the option to join a tour of Athens which "makes the invisible (homeless), visible”.
It can be visited during the 15-day Best of Greece tour from Athens to Santorini, from £1,999.
The fifth project is the Maldives Plastic Programme which has seen Planterra partnering with local travel company Voyages to integrate plastic pick-ups into all G Adventures tours in the Maldives.
Planeterra provides the equipment for travellers to join in plastic clean-ups on beaches and the collected rubbish can be recycled.
The eight-day Maldives Island Hopping trip costs from £649.
