No evidence terrorism brought down Russian jet, claim Egyptian officials

All 224 people on board the Russian jet were killed.

Russia and Western governments have said the Airbus A321 operated by Metrojet was likely brought down by a bomb, and Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the crash.

However Egypt's civil aviation ministry said it had completed a preliminary report on the crash had so far found no evidence of a criminal act, Reuters reported.

"The technical investigative committee has so far not found anything indicating any illegal intervention or terrorist action," the ministry said in a statement.

Most of the passengers killed on the aircraft were Russian tourists flying home from Sharm el-Sheikh.

Many carriers have cancelled flights to the resort until January.
