Private jetting takes off

A new luxury tour operator is hoping to get agents behind plans to launch private jet tours.

Flights of Fantasy director Daniel Essex has 450 seats to sell on tours between September 2005 and May 2007.

Despite prices leading in at £3,990 for a day trip to Lapland, he is confident enough agents are keen to break into the top end of the market to ensure he meets his targets.

Essex said: "I think luxury is definitely the niche market that is going to expand.

"There are a huge number of people out there who are cash- rich time-poor and are looking for an experience or something that makes a statement. If we are able to get 50 of the best UK agents involved then I would be happy to support them all."

Essex said he is offering a flat commission rate of 5% on the seats that are sold individually, but is open to negotiation with better sellers.

The fleet consists of two aircraft – a 120-seat A319 modified for 28 people and a Legacy with space for 13 – while the most ambitious of the 30 tour programmes is the 45-day World Air Cruise. Seats are sold individually.
