Travel firms dominate Amazon Growing Business Awards

Leisure-sector companies dominated Amazon Growing Business Awards with Travel Counsellors among the winners.

The 18th annual awards honoured the UK’s small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) leaders, recognising the particular achievements of 17 growing UK businesses and five which were highly commended.

Travel Counsellors won the category for growing business of the year for larger companies with turnover of more than £50 million while Feefo was names digital business of the year.

Forest Holidays was highly commended in the rural business of the year category.

More than 500 business were nominated for the 2016 awards.

Amazon UK country manager Doug Gurr said: “Small businesses are the backbone of Britain, and so it’s immensely inspiring to hear such a number of success stories, showing that creative ideas and relentless drive is found around the country.”
