Travel GBI editor to chair debate at British Tourism & Travel Show

The editor of Travel Weekly sister publication Travel GBI is to chair a panel debate at this month’s British Tourism & Travel Show in Birmingham.

 

 

George Clode is to facilitate a discussion on current trends in the domestic tourism industry.

 

 

Previously confirmed speakers signed up to attend the show include author and zookeeper Benjamin Mee, TV presenter Julia Bradbury and Travelzoo UK managing director Joel Brandon-Bravo.

 

 

TripAdvisor’s Leanne Thompson will also host a session on the first day of the show on March 22 discussing ‘The Evolution of TripAdvisor’.

 

 

The event at the NEC Birmingham will also see the return of The Tourism Society’s annual question time panel discussion.

 

 

Chaired by Association of Leading Visitor Attractions’ director Bernard Donoghue, the panel will inlcude representatives from VisitScotland, the Welsh Assembly, Tourism Ireland, and VisitBritain.

 

 

With Brexit high on the agenda for all businesses, Alexander Göransson, lead analyst at Euromonitor International, will take a look at ‘overcoming disruption in UK travel.’

 

 

The Association of Group Travel Organisers is to open the second day with a session exclusively for the sector.

 

 

In the last session of the show, Hudson Heritage’s panel sets its sights on why hosting a film shoot can bring a new approach for visitors and groups, facilitated by Sarah Greenwood, publisher of Hudson’s Historic Houses & Gardens.
