Travelodge to recruit 875 full-time staff by Christmas

Travelodge is looking to recruit 875 full-time staff in the countdown to Christmas.

The budget chain wants to fill positions in hotels across the country in roles ranging from receptionists and cleaners to bar café team members.

There are 55 hotel manager and assistant manager vacancies and a further 21 at head office finance, human resources and IT departments within the total.

The recruitment drive also includes 120 employees to work at new hotels due to open before Christmas in Newcastle, Bath, Inverness, Redhill, Melksham and Harrow in London plus four maintenance engineers across the UK.

Chief operating officer Craig Bonnar said: “At Travelodge a job is for life and not just for Christmas. We are currently recruiting for 875 permanent positions throughout the UK which includes positions in six of our forthcoming new hotels.

“Joining a hotel company opens the door to training, career progression and even roles in new countries. If you have passion, determination and a real desire to look after people then we will help you learn the rest.”

He added: “We are committed in developing our people. We have a successful in-house management development programme in place that has helped hundreds of colleagues climb the career ladder into management via an entry level position.”

More than 500 employees to date have graduated into a management position by undertaking an in-house development programme called Aspire.

The company operates 551 hotels in the UK, Ireland and Spain with plans to add a further 250 over the next ten years.
