Tui’s green credentials recognised by climate index

Tui Travel has been included in the FTSE 350 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) for the sixth year running.

The travel giant’s score of 92% places it among the top 10% of the FTSE 350 in its approach to carbon reporting.

 

 

This year saw an improvement of nine places from 2012 to rank joint 18th in the index. The group is the only travel and leisure company to feature.

 

 

The index recognises organisations which report their carbon emissions in a transparent manner and high scores in the index demonstrate a committed approach to information disclosure.

 

 

Deputy chief executive Johan Lundgren said: “We are delighted that our hard work towards carbon reporting and reduction has been rated so highly.

 

 

“As a group we fully understand the challenges related to responsible tourism and we are committed to forging a sustainable future for our business and the industry.”

 

 

Tui Travel was recognised last week by Carbon Clear for its approach to carbon reporting. The carbon management company, ranked the company joint 6th in the FTSE 100 in its annual survey.

 

 

It scored 75% in a survey covering key areas of disclosure and performance, including measurement, reporting and verification; carbon strategy; reduction programmes; and engagement.
